Christian Grey at Cannes Film Festival: what an interesting scene that would be. Alas, we'll have to settle for a movie starring the actor who plays Christian Grey being screened at Cannes. Take what you can get, Fifty Shades of Grey fans.

Germany's Media Luna will have a market screening of the film on May 19. The movie will likely be scrutinized as the screening takes place about nine months ahead of Dornan's highly-anticipated performance as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E. L. James' best-selling novel Fifty Shades of Grey. Dornan plays a crafty investment banker in the movie, which comes from Dominique Deruddere, an "open ... art-house auteur," according to Variety.

"[Dornan's character] tries to win a Skeikh's trust and business by buying him a champion racing pigeon from a Belgium pidgeon fancier," Variety reports. "When he meets the stubborn owner and his beautiful granddaughter, he begins to believe there's more to life than the latest deal."

There's hasn't been much talk about the Belgium film. It is a romance, however, so viewers should get a glimpse of how Dornan handles his lady, an obvious factor in Fifty Shades of Grey's success (or lack thereof).

Fans won't see Dornan in what is easily his most anticipated role yet until Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015. A trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey was shown at CinemaCon and raised eyebrows for its lack of sexuality, which seemed to be replaced by "tame" and "romantic" scenes, according to viewers. Donna Langley, Universal Pictures chairman, called the film the next "iconic screen romance."

Meanwhile, the Northern Irish actor has been keeping himself occupied. Earlier this month, Dornan won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Television) for his role as serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall, a BBC series. Dornan was quite the prizewinner that night; he also took home the award for Irish Film Board Rising Star.
