Zaire Wade Video: Could Dywane Wade's Son Play With Him In the NBA?
Though there have been several close calls, the NBA has never seen a father and son pairing both play in the league at the same time. Now, a new video is coming to light that shows that Dwyane Wade's son Zaire has serious game, and it just might be possible that they'd play in the league at the same time.
It's not as crazy as it might seem. Zaire Wade, who is now 11, has gotten a large amount of views on the internet lately for his highly advanced basketball moves. With a father like Dwyane Wade, his talent is certainly understandable, and young Zaire has already come forward as one of the top prospects in his age bracket.
"As first posted by City League Hoops...Zaire Wade has emerged as one of the nation's top fifth grade boys basketball players. The younger Wade completely tore apart the competition at the recent John Lucas Future of the Game camp and emerged as one of the most impressive young point guards on offer," notes Yahoo! Sports.
His father is 31 years old but is good enough to have a long career should he be able to keep away from serious injuries. With the current NBA draft rules, Zaire could reach the NBA as young as 19, making his father 39. While that is certainly old, there are plenty of NBA players who have reached forty years and beyond.
There have been a handful of father and son combos, from the likes of the Vanderweghe family as well as Joe Bryant and his legendary son Kobe. Perhaps the closest we've come to seeing a multi-generational family affair in the NBA was Karl Malone and his daughter Cheryl Ford. Both were playing professionally at the same time but for obvious reasons, did not play against one another.
Time will tell if Zaire and Dwyane will end up in the NBA at the same time, but the prospect is certainly possible. One thing is for certain, if they were to square off against one another, there would be plenty of trash talking to go around.
"I had 2 laugh at ths..I was playing my oldest son Zaire on his nerf rim & he dunked & said Gibson while screaming..L2MS Kids u gotta luv em," tweeted the elder Wade. His son was referencing Dwyane Wade getting dunked on by Taj Gibson last May.
