Watch Ecuadorian Beauty Queens Tackle Question Portion With Weird Answers
A new video from an Ecuadorian beauty pageant is adding to the ridicule that already surrounds the question portion of beauty competitions.
In the video posted by Toledito TV, several beauty pageant contestants, participating to become the new queen of Santa Elena, are shown participating in the question portion of the pageant and giving some really strange answers.
One of the hosts asked the first of four finalists to express her opinion about the customs and traditions of the communities within Santa Elena Canton.
The contestant then answered with a response that left audiences confused and silent. "We all have a very large community and with great respect are doing a lot for our community," she said.
The second question was about stray animals in the community and what can be done as part of a solution.
"I think that the animals are souls who have feelings, also I would ask for social help from our dear mayor to permit and to help all those animals so that there wont exist anymore sick animals." the second contestant said.
"Since our beautiful province deserves to be known by all the tourists of the world," she shouted.
The third and fourth contestants are also shown answering their questions but their answers were slightly better received by audiences, who cheered.
Surprisingly, in the end the pageant crowned Helen Valladares Resabala, who gave the odd answer about stray animals, as the new queen of Santa Elena, reported El Universo.
While the contestants all seemed happy with their responses, the comments on Facebook revealed that audiences felt embarrassed for them and couldn't believe that they were the top four finalists.
Several comments even poked fun at one of the hosts for suggesting that the answers were good. Check out the video below.
