YouTube Star Nabela Noor Shares Powerful Message Against Islamophobia in the US
Nabela Noor often posts makeup tutorials, beauty and fashion DIYs on her YouTube page. However, following the recent terror attacks, the 24-year old decided to talk about a more sensitive topic -- Islamophobia.
In her video, Noor talked about her personal experience with Islamophobia for being a Muslim-living in the United States. She also expressed her opinions about Islamophobia and her religion. In a recent interview, the blogger revealed her reasons for sharing her views on Islamophobia on her YouTube page.
In an interview with Mail Online, Noor revealed her reasons for sharing her video titled "Dear America | From a Muslim-American" to YouTube. She said she wanted to tell people that living as a Muslim in the U.S. does not make her and the rest just like her "less of an American." Regardless, whether a Muslim lives in the U.K., Australia or wherever country, being a Muslim does not make them less Australian or less British.
The YouTube star, who recently got married to an American named Seth Martin, expressed that being a Muslim doesn't make them less sensitive to harsh comments about their religion. They, too, feel the hurt American's feel whenever terror attacks happened and Muslims are blamed.
"When these tragedies occur, our hearts ache, too. We are just as outraged that there are people in this world manipulating the meaning of our texts to serve their own agenda," she told Mail Online.
Noting how people are stronger and more powerful when they stand together, Noor said she wanted to use her YouTube blog to call for unity in the fight against terrorism. In her interview with Mail Online, the blogger also called for a stop to "hate crimes against Muslims." Reportedly, this animosity towards them will only result to more chaos and anger, which she said is what the terrorists exactly want to happen.
Noor's interview with Mail Online came after she shared her video, where she recalled her experience with Islamophobia in the United States and expressed her faith in her religion. Instead of spreading lies and disdain for Islam, Noor encouraged people to learn more about the religion to open their eyes to the truth about being a Muslim.
She also encouraged people to stop spreading Islamophobia as this will only create more chaos and attacks on innocent Muslims and on other innocent civilians.
"The more we hate each other the more the terrorist succeed in their mission," Noor said in her video posted below.
