Was the Winning £33 Million Lottery Ticket Bought From Morrisons Bolton?
Earlier this week, a life changing announcement was made after it was reported that the £66 million Lotto jackpot has two winners. As per the reports, each winner will get to receive around £33 million. One of the winners already claimed the prize, but the other winning ticket however is still unclaimed as per Telegraph's report.
As per Bolton News, one of the winning lottery tickets was bought from Morrisons in Bolton. Numerous speculations emerged after an unidentified Morrisons' employee informed some of his friends that the winning Lottery ticket with the numbers 26, 27, 26, 47, 52 and 58 was purchased from their store.
A Waitrose store manager, Mark King stated that, "My friend works at the Morrisons store and he was sent an email from Camelot on Monday morning saying that the ticket that's unclaimed was from their shop."
King then added that the residents were thrilled after hearing about the news that the winning ticket was indeed bought in Bolton. He then added that the fact that the ticket was still unclaimed meant that it must have been bought by a customer.
King also said that aside from him, his friend who purchased the ticket at the store was informed that the winning ticket was from Morrison. King then shared the text message stating, "He text me. He said: 'you're not going to believe this' and told me that they'd all been told to check their tickets. I can't believe that no one has claimed it yet."
Another insider by the name of Paul Grimes on the other hand stated that the winning ticket was won by a Camelot resident. He posted the information on his Facebook page stating: "I buy lotto every week and was told by a staff member to check my ticket as there had been a confirmed by Camelot millionaire winning ticket. I hadn't won but a person who bought a ticket here has rung the store confirming they have the winning ticket for 33 million."
These however were just speculations as the National Lottery operators in Camelot stated that they have not made any official announcements as to whether the ticket was indeed bought within the area or not. The Camelot spokesperson stated, "We have not confirmed where the ticket was bought. There have been rumors from all over the country."
As of the latest update, the winner of the unclaimed Lottery ticket will still get a chance to claim the prize until July 7 of this year.
