"Californication" star Ellen Woglom will play a guest role in an upcoming episode of "Castle."

Rick returns to where it all began for his wife during an episode in the second half of Season 8 with a visit to the police academy where Beckett trained.

TVLine reports Rick (Nathan Fillion) finds himself walking his wife's old stomping grounds when Beckett (Stana Katic) becomes a mentor to a young cadet, played by Woglom.

The second half of the season also finds the two co-stars butting heads with Russian Diplomatic Security Service agent Vasily Zhirov, played by "Spartacus" alum Nick E. Tarabay.

"We get a little 'Read Heat' action," co-show-runner Alex Hawley told TVLine in reference to the nearly 30-year-old culture-clash comedy. "We have a diplomatic security agent from Russia who comes, because there is the death of a Russian national. He's a big character."

Upcoming episodes also find Beckett and Castle pretending to be estranged, despite their recent reconciliation, for the sake of their ongoing LokSat investigation. The two were apart for much of the first half of the season.

"There's a lot of 'lost time to make up for,' so to speak, in the bedroom," Hawley said. "So there is some friskiness."

Later in the season, Castle and Beckett will find themselves actually in a courtroom for perhaps the first time in the history of the series.

Gerald McRaney and Summer Glau are also slated to make guest starring appearances in an upcoming episode, billed as the installment that will finally solve the riddle of Rick's missing time earlier in the season.

"Here's a promise: We are going to conclude that. It will be done," showrunner Terence Paul Winter said.

"Castle" airs Monday nights on ABC at 10 p.m. ET. The show also stars Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, Seamus Dever as Kevin Ran, Jon Huertas as Javier Esposito and Toks Olagundoye as Hayley Shipton.
