Sony Xperia Z2 Android Tablet Release Date, Price, Specs: Thinner Than iPad Air, 32GB 4.4.2 KitKat With 4G LTE for Sale in Europe
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is one of the latest Android tablets, released in April in Europe and the U.K. It is now available online (U.K. site). During the announcement of the tablet at the Mobile World Congress, Sony signaled their intent to compete with the Apple iPad Air. Light and slim, the tablet is available in three models and comes in white or black.
The 16GB Wi-Fi only Xperia Z2 tablet is priced at £399 in the UK while the 32GB is priced at £449. The 16GB Xperia Z2 with 4G LTE mobile connectivity cost £449. The 32GB has no cellular connectivity. Further global roll out is supposed to take place later in June.
The Z2 Tablet is only 6.4 mm, making it thinner than the iPad Air and the other 7- to 10-inch tablets. The display is large at 10.1 inches.
This tablet is dust resistant and waterproof so it is safe to put inside almost any bag, even if it risks getting wet or dirty. It is made of glass and metal with a rubber external coat surrounding the corners and the back. The rubber provides a good grip on the back cover, but readily shows fingerprints (as is always the case in most tablets).
