Billboard Latin Music Awards 2014 Preview: Chayanne to Perform After Mom's Death, Espinoza Paz Doesn't Want to Attend
Stars are already trickling into Miami to celebrate the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
The award show, which takes place on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on Telemundo, will take place at Miami's BankUnited Center. Raul Gonzalez, Roselyn Sanchez and Laura Flores will host the event.
For its 25th anniversary celebration, expect some extra dazzle, according to Fox News Latino. Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Juanes and Luis Fonsi promise to make it a memorable event.
A touching part of the evening is sure to come when Chayanne debuts his new single during the ceremony. His mother recently passed away, and he will still perform at the event, Peru said.
One performer who supposedly has no plans to attend is Espinoza Paz. According to TV Y Novelas, the singer was upset that he wasn't asked to sing and has therefore decided to skip out on the event.
This year's awards promise to be the most social yet.
Telemundo has partnered with E!, mun2 and Billboard Magazine to raise its social media visibility. Backstage there will be a Twitter mirror so that celebrities can dedicate photos to their fans. E! will provide best and worst dressed commentary, notes Lost Remote.
A few special awards will be given out that night.
Carlos Vives will receive the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for his more than 20-year dedication to humanitarian efforts. The Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Andrea Bocelli, and Franco Vita will be awarded the Billboard Hall of Fame Award.
