High-profile celebrity couple Mariah Carey and Australian billionaire James Packer are rumored to have just been engaged last night, according to E! News. The publication claimed that Packer apparently asked Carey to marry him and gave her an enormous engagement ring.

Of course, the news agency revealed that Carey said yes and received a 35-carat diamond ring. The couple had been dating for eight months and even moved in together a few months ago as the two show that they are in a fast-paced romantic relationship.

"They fell head over heels in love with one another," an insider told the news outlet. "It's crazy how perfect they are together, they both know it and couldn't be happier."

The surprise proposal was reportedly held in New York City, according to TMZ, who even caught the newly engaged couple on video walking out of a restaurant and capturing Carey's gigantic diamond ring.

Carey and Packer were seen walking out of the Eleven Madison Park in their formal attire for the special dinner, the publication reports. The news agency also revealed that if rumors are true, it will be their third marriage since both have been married twice before.

The news outlet further reveals that Carey, with two children from ex-husband Nick Cannon, will be marrying Packer, who already has three children. However, the two are seemingly so in love with each other, according to E! News.

Apparently, Packer was very romantic to bring her at the Western Wall in Israel, the publication reports. "There is only one place at the Western Wall where men and woman can stand together and it was meaningful for him to take her there so that they could share this very intimate moment as a couple," a source told the news agency of the recent romantic getaway in June 2015.
