Inspiring, Adventure-Packed Films Dominate 20th Century Fox’s 2016 Silver Screen Lineup
This year, 20th Century Fox has finally unveiled its 2016 Silver Screen Lineup. And Award-winning, inspiring and adventure-packed films are set to dominate the big screen.
Headlining this year's list is the animated film, "Kung Fu Panda 3," which is considered as one of the most successful animated franchises worldwide, Inquirer Pop noted. The third installment will depict Po's reunion with his long-lost father and the appearance of supernatural villain Kai, who aims to defeat all the Kung Fu masters in China.
Another must-watch animated movie this 2016 is Mike Thrumeier's "Ice Age: Collision Course." It will follow Scrat's epic pursuit of the elusive acorn. Unfortunately, Scrat's quest will set off a series of cosmic events that threatens to transform the Ice Age World.
As for award-winning films, 20th Century Fox's 2016 Silver Screen Lineup has a lot to offer. According to Philstar Entertainment, Alejandro González Iñárritu's "The Revenant," which features Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, tells the true-to-life story of legendary fur trapper Hugh Glass. And with three Golden Globe Awards and 12 Oscar nominations under its belt, this epic and heroic saga towards home and redemption is definitely a must-watch.
"Brooklyn," on the other hand, will depict the story of Eilis Lacey, a young Irish immigrant who was enticed by the promise of America. Starring, Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen and Domhnall Gleeson, the movie is set on Brooklyn during the 1950s.
Jennifer Lawrence's "Joy" is also part of the list. The movie follows the life of home shopping star and inventor Joy Mangano. The film is directed by acclaimed David O. Russell and also features Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper and Edgar Ramirez.
Meanwhile, there are also several superhero-themed movies on the list. And on top of the list is Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, "Deadpool," starring Ryan Reynolds. The movie tells the story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson and his quest to find the man who nearly destroyed his life after a rogue experiment left him with accelerated healing powers.
Also on the list are director Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," where the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe will be introduced. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
Another highly-anticipated film this 2016 is Roland Emmerich's "Independence Day: Resurgence," where a global catastrophe on an unimaginable scale will be expected. The movie features Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum.
Other movies also included on the list are Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman's "Eddie The Eagle," Sarah Wayne Callies' "The Other Side of the Door," and Zac Efron, Adam DeVine, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza's "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates."
