Daniel Bryan Gets Clearance from Third Doctor, WWE Return Next?
Daniel Bryan got big news recently after word came out that he has been cleared by a third outside doctor.
With that said, Bryan has been given the green light to return to the ring, but there remains one more obstacle – the WWE.
Bryan has been kept in cold storage as of late due to concussion issues. The Yes! Man had already been seen by two previous outside doctors who likewise cleared him to return. The only problem is that the WWE’s band of doctors felt that he was not ready to spring back into action.
This was when the WWE and Bryan agreed that whatever diagnosis a third outside doctor would have will settle the score. WWE chairman Vince McMahon was equally interested as well to see before he decides on Bryan’s fate.
Right now, it will be interesting how the WWE will treat the latest findings reported via the Wrestling Observer. Will they finally allow the bearded one to return?
If that should be the case, it is the best time to do so. The WWE finds itself with a severely depleted roster, with key injuries to the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Cesaro.
The WWE has been struggling in the ratings game, and Bryan’s popularity could be a good source of a surge.
Other than that, the WWE Royal Rumble takes place this weekend. With a 30-man battle royal in focus, seeing Bryan return to action could be a big boost.
The WWE’s stance of holding back is understandable. Bryan has had a history of concussions, and their latest preventive measure is more to avoid potential concussion lawsuits and other liabilities.
However, Bryan did mention before that if a third doctor clears him and the WWE continues to stand firm as far as holding him out, the former WWE champion may consider his options which includes returning to the Ring of Honor or even perhaps a stint with TNA Wrestling, as mentioned last year via DailyDDT.com.
Right now, everything seems dependent on Vince McMahon’s hands. The WWE doctors are not likely to make a call on Bryan’s status for fear of being held accountable.
The WWE chairman is the best person to decide on whether Bryan should wrestle or not. Time is running and so is Bryan’s patience as he has been itching to get back into action. A probable answer to that would be at the Royal Rumble, which takes place Sunday at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
