Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach Has Dreams of Being a 'Bond Girl'
Miss Universe 2016 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines now has her sights set on achieving a new goal.
Yahoo reports Wurtzbach recently returned to her homeland and wasted little time sharing to his supporters that she wants to be a Bond Girl in the future.
"I might be the next Bond girl, who knows?" she said. "So, we'll see, that's the next dream."
In the meantime, Wurtzbach will concentrate on working on her many causes, such as fighting HIV and AIDS.
"I'm using the attention to talk about my causes," she said. "Now, I have everybody's attention."
Wurtzbach added that part of her plans includes letting people see her be publicly tested for the disease in New York. She is hoping that it will encourage people to follow suit, particularly in the Philippines, where HIV cases have dramatically increased in recent years.
As for her "Bond Girl" dreams, the 26-year-old Wurtzbach has previously worked as an actress and model. Beyond that, many international actresses have previously been cast in various roles over the history of the franchise.
Later this month, Wurtzbach is slated to receive a citation from Philippine President Benigno Aquino III as part of a celebration highlighting her Miss Universe victory. Wurtzbach is the third woman from the Philippines to win the honor, and first since 1973.
In the days right after her victory, Wurtzbach told reporters she has been so overwhelmed by her shining moment that she constantly checked on her crown and even took a nap beside it but later stopped doing so over fear she might break it.
"God forbid that would happen, the Filipinos are gonna kill me. I haven't even done my homecoming yet," she said, repeatedly touching the diamond-studded crown.
Wurtzbach never made mention of the simmering controversy when Steve Harvey initially made the mistake of wrongfully crowning Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo as the winner.
