New 'House of Cards' Trailer Teases Fans With Shovel Moment
The Season 4 premiere of Netflix's hit series "House of Cards" is only a little more than a month away, and (fictional) President Frank Underwood is using every minute to "campaign" ahead of the show's much-expected return.
The unscrupulous leader played by Kevin Spacey delighted fans with yet another teaser trailer this week. The spot shows Underwood with an ominous shot of a shovel scraping dirt -- an image that will remind his followers of a key moment of the Season 3 finale.

But the camera then pulls back, and viewers realize we are merely seeing a scene from a sanctioned campaign event. It does confirm that Doug Stamper, Underwood's ultra-loyal chief of staff, is back and ready to do his boss's dirty work in the upcoming fourth installment, Entertainment Weekly noted.
Stamper, played by Michael Kelly, has been by Underwood's side ever since the Spacey character began his scheming as House Majority Whip in Season 1. And Kelly has even shown some interest in political issues in real life, though he has limited his efforts to less cold-blooded lobbying.

The actor turned up on Capitol Hill last week to voice his support for the reauthorization of the Older American Act, the Washington Post reported. Kelly's mother is a longtime advocate for the elderly, and a National Association of Area Agencies on Aging representative said the "House of Cards" star's help was crucial for the organization.
"We greatly appreciate Michael's vocal support for the home and community-based programs that help older adults age with dignity, health and independence," the unidentified spokesperson told the Washington newspaper. "By all accounts, he did a wonderful job," he added.
"House of Cards" is set to return on March 4, when all Season 4 episodes will become available on Netflix.
