The feud between Republican candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz has been in the headlines for days now since Trump recently boycotted the GOP debate in Iowa and Cruz slammed him for it, Fox News Latino reported.

This took a toll on another presidential candidate Marco Rubio, who says that his two opponents are focusing on the wrong things, beating each other up in their statements. Rubio said that instead of slamming his opponents, he will focus on the work that needs to be done for the country, the publication adds.

Rubio has been third in the Iowa polls. The Trump-Cruz feud was an opportunity for him to speak up and shed light on what he could bring to the table that was different from his two opponents.

Talking to Fox News Senior National Correspondent John Roberts, Rubio slammed the feud between the high-profile businessman and the Texan senator. "I know this whole fight between them and Donald not coming and Ted Cruz challenging him to a one on one, mano-a-mano debate, it makes for great theatrics and an interesting sideshow but this election is about turning America around and that's what I'm focused on," Rubio said as quoted by the news outlet.

Furthermore, Rubio was not concerned on Trump missing out on the GOP debate, which would be moderated by Fox News host Megyn Kelly. In fact, Rubio simply said that Trump just gave the others more time than what was previously allotted to them.

The publication adds that the debate can let Cruz and Rubio have time for their own personal feud. However, Rubio denied that the feud was nothing personal.

"Ted is just willing to say, do or be anything in order to get votes so when he's out there portraying himself as the only real conservative in the race, I mean, his record doesn't live up to that in terms of the standards he set for himself so those are policy differences and we'll always discuss those. Those are legitimate. Not personal," Rubio said.

Meanwhile, Democracy Now reveals that the issue comes after Trump backed out on the Iowa debate because of his distaste for Kelly. However, the publication revealed that Trump scheduled another activity on the same day that the debate will occur. Apparently, Trump will be holding a special event for the benefit of veteran organizations, the news agency reports.
