WWE: The Undertaker vs Braun Strowman Not Happening at WrestleMania 32?
The Undertaker has not appeared on WWE television since the Survivor Series pay-per-view when he teamed up with his brother Kane to defeat Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family. The Road to WrestleMania 32 is underway, but who will The Undertaker face at the biggest event in the history of WWE?
One of the names being rumored to face "The Deadman" at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas is The Wyatt Family's black sheep, Braun Strowman. However, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Radio noted that it's just speculation at this point and nothing is set in stone, per Ringside News.
Alvarez also mentioned that Strowman will probably face The Big Show at the Fastlane event. The feud has already started in this week's episode of Monday Night RAW when The Wyatt Family attacked The Big Show after his match with Erick Rowan.
So who will The Undertaker face at WrestleMania 32? What Culture notes that only Vince McMahon, Triple H and a few other people know what the plans for The Undertaker's match at the "Showcase of the Immortals." Strowman has been booked really strong since his debut, but some people believe that it is to make him look relevant during the Brock Lesnar-Bray Wyatt feud.
Daily DDT suggests a few names that can challenge The Undertaker and carry him to a great match, which is something that a very "green" Strowman won't be able to do. The options include Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and A.J. Styles. With the exception of Ambrose, the remaining names have no current feuds and could start a program against "The Phenom."
He has faced the likes of Edge, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. The Houston Chronicle noted that problem is to find a "strong matchup" for The Undertaker, considering WWE is hoping to fill AT&T Stadium with 100,000 fans and increase WWE Network subscriptions.
According to IBTimes, Owens is one of the names being discussed as a possible opponent for The Undertaker. The report added that The Undertaker could make his television return on the Feb. 21 episode of RAW -- the night after Fastlane -- to set up his WrestleMania match.
As for the rumors of WrestleMania 32 being his last match, Sportskeeda notes that The Undertaker will not hang up his boots and continue to perform for another year. The 50-year-old legend has been with the WWE for more than 25 years and has accomplished all the possible accolades in the wrestling industry.
