Aaron Hernandez Praises Tom Brady, Bashes New England Patriots Owner
The New England Patriots may have been unceremoniously taken out of the Super Bowl picture, but such has not hindered followers from praising team quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski.
One such person is a former Patriot tight end in Aaron Hernandez, who is serving a life-sentence in connection with the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd. Aside from that, he is also facing charges for killing two men in Boston back in 2012.
In a letter obtained by TMZ, Hernandez praised his former teammates Brady and Gronkowski but held a huge grudge on team owner Robert Kraft.
The note was sent to a female pen pal by Hernandez from the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center last Dec. 10. Apparently, the former Patriot tight end was miffed about something against the female recipient for criticizing him in their previous exchange.
Though the start of the said letter pretty much shows a livid Hernandez, the tone of the composition shifted to a new subject. He somewhat mellowed down as Hernandez wrote about his former team.
“The closest I was with was probably Brady and whom I love to death and always will and only hope the best for them. But was cool with Julez, Branch and 'the BEST TE ever to walk on a football field' Gronk!"
However, it wasn’t all praises from there as Hernandez took a swipe at Kraft. He called the Patriots owner “non-loyal” and added that all of the things Kraft said were not backed up by actions.
His resentment is understandable on the part of the former tight end. Kraft claimed that his team was "duped" by Hernandez, who signed a fresh $37.5 million deal just a year earlier. Kraft even testified against Hernandez’s murder trial via the Washington Post.
With the up-and-down mood of the letter, Hernandez says that he will continue to support his teammates even from behind bars. He has a TV in his cell and obviously makes it a point to watch his boys, the Patriots, when they have a game.
"I watch every game faithfully cheering them on and always will cuz I have love for so many of them!" he said.
As far as Kraft is concerned, the recent letter is unlikely to bother him. The former tight end apparently has some issues, but the fact is, Kraft presumably did his share but being tied up with murder is another.
