A video of an orphaned kangaroo jumping into a man-made pouch has gone viral recently, proving that animal clips never fail to charm human viewers.

The young kangaroo, who has been named Crystal, lost her mother too early, according to Mashable. As such, her new carers had to find a way to supplement her need to nuzzle in a warm, protective pouch that is a signature feature of adult female kangaroos. The staff at the Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs in Australia then made good use of an improvised pouch and let her hop into it, which is what she did in the clip.

From the looks of it, Crystal appears to be loving the improvised pouch.

At birth, joeys are known to climb up their mothers to get into the pouch, where they will spend some time until they are grown enough, at about 8 months, to be able to get out of the pouch and stand up by itself. However, joeys will continue to seek their mother's pouches and hop in and out for a few months more. It will stop getting into the pouch when it is too big for it already, Kangaroo Footprints noted.

Apparently, judging by Crystal's size, she is not yet at the stage where she is completely independent of her mother's pouch.

Crystal is not the only viral joey. In August last year, a young orphaned kangaroo named Doodlebug made the rounds on cybersphere after a photo of him hugging a teddy bear was shared on social media. The image was shared by wildlife aficionado and political adviser Tim Beshara, according to ABC.net.au. It has since made the news on TV and online.

"He was found abandoned and he actually walked up to a member of the public, put his arms up and asked to be picked up," said Gillain Abbott, Doodlebug's carer for some time now. He's been said to be preparing for full release into the wild.

"Doodlebug loves his teddy, it's an enrichment thing," she explained. "He has company; it's like mum is always standing there beside him, which is what would be happening in the wild but I can't be there all the time."

"So, teddy fulfils a huge role in his life," she added, also saying that Doodlebug's photo going viral made her happy.

Hugs and kangaroo pouches - they both do give that warm, encompassing feeling, which why it is no surprise these two orphaned joeys were seeking them.
