'Castle' Season 6 Episode 22 Spoilers: Beckett Tries to Investigate Her Mother's Murder, But What Happened? [Video]
On the latest episode of "Castle," the team investigated the mysterious death of a pro skateboarder.
In "Law & Boarder," a professional skateboarder is murdered in a chase with a motocross biker.
While Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) are investigating the case, the couple also engages in an intense game of Scrabble. Throughout the episode, Beckett defeats Castle, and Castle wants a rematch to show his verbal prowess.
As far as the investigation goes, the team figures out that the victim was a runaway with a history in NYC, so the detectives believe he came back East for something other than a skating competition.
They discover his mother once dated a cruel Albanian convict, so they surmise that he came to New York to seek revenge. Then they also find out that he's a thief, and could be in NYC to rob a law firm.
The team finds video footage of a deadly skateboarding accident that occurred years ago. They use the footage to leverage information from the sporting event's manager, and find out that he and the victim witnessed another skateboarder's accidental death at the hands of a wealthy kid with whom they were friends.
They were promised $5 million to keep quiet about the death as soon as the trust fund kid had access to his money.
However, the victim decided he didn't want to keep quiet. He planned on stealing evidence about the death back from the trust fund kid's law firm, so the affluent young man murdered him.
The culprit is then arrested on his 21st birthday for murder.
Meanwhile, during the case, Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) fight for the title of Best Man at the Castle/Beckett wedding, but it turns out Castle's daughter, Alexis (Molly C. Quinn), will have the honor.
On the next episode, "Veritas," "Beckett conducts a covert investigation related to her mother's murder but things go terribly wrong when the subject under surveillance is killed. Castle and Beckett become the object of a manhunt when evidence connects Beckett to the victim."
