Gwen Stefani Twitter & Songs: 'No Doubt' Star Confirmed as New Judge on 'The Voice'
Gwen Stefani finally confirmed the recent claims that she will be joining the upcoming seventh season of NBC's "The Voice" as a new judge.
The 44-year-old singer took to her Instagram account on Tuesday (April 29) to post a picture of herself holding a microphone and making a peace sign intended to hint the "Voice" logo. "It's true!" she wrote the caption following.
Christina Aguilera also confirmed the latest news via Twitter on the same day, welcoming Stefani on board. "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani!" she wrote. "Welcome to our crazy fam!"
The No Doubt lead singer has reportedly signed on for only one season as a new coach, replacing Aguilera, who is currently out on maternity leave. The "Come On Over" singer is planning to return to reclaim her spot on the popular reality singing competition series after giving birth to her second child, a baby girl with her fiancé, Matt Rutler.
As part of her one-year contract, Gwen Stefani will also be joining other judges, including Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and another newcomer, also the "Happy" hit maker Pharrell Williams.
Host Carson Daly previously expressed his confidence about the "Hollaback Girl" singer joining the show. "She's friends with the other coaches but has a strong opinion, which is also important," he complemented Stefani. "They can't all just be too lovely out there. So I think she'd be a solid choice."
Christina Aguilera has already signed on for a definite return to "The Voice" judging panel for Season 8.
