Michael Schumacher’s Manager Sabine Kehm Breaks Silence Over Former F1 Superstar’s Health Condition
Amid the ongoing media blackout on the current condition of seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, his manager Sabine Kehm has finally broken her silence, saying Schumacher will be back again one day.
While Schumacher continues his recovery from the serious head injuries he suffered in a ski accident three years ago, an exhibition on his motorsport career has opened in Germany on Monday. About 200 guests attended the opening in Marburg in the state of Hessy.
Schumacher's wife, Corinna, and their two children, Gina Marie and Mick, along with his manager, Kehm, were all seen at the event. Amid the scarce updates on the F1 superstar's health, Kehm stressed that all that could be done at the moment was to be hopeful and show support.
"Of course, we miss Michael on days like these," Kehm told guests, as per Planet F1. "Unfortunately, we cannot change what has happened."
Kehm also added that she's hopeful that Schumacher "will one day be back again."
Schumacher's old manager Willi Weber, however, called for "honest" health updates about the F1 legend's condition. According to Weber, Schumacher's fans deserved to know the truth, Daily Express noted.
Meanwhile, ever since the unfortunate skiing accident at the French Alpine Resort of Meribel in December 2013, reports on Schumacher's condition have been elusive. Avid Schumacher's fans only know that the former F1 champ is currently undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program at the comforts of his home in Geneva, Switzerland.
Due to the traumatic head injury, Schumacher was placed in a medically-induced coma until June 2014. By September of the same year, he was released from the hospital and brought back to his home for further rehabilitation. At that time, Kehm said that he was making progress in spite of the severity of his injury.
"You have to give it time. I think you really just have to have patience," she said.
Kehm had also previously revealed that Michael's condition is improving.
"We are happy to say he still does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had," Kehm said during an interview. "But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
Schumacher is currently under the extensive care of 15 medical experts 24/7 at his home, where a state-of-the-art medical suite was custom built.
The latest updates on Michael Schumacher's condition came after reports claimed that his health is "not good."
