Michael Jackson Songs & Justin Timberlake: 'Love Never Felt So Good' Remade Three Decades Later
"Love Never Felt So Good" is a 1983 song recorded by Michael Jackson, and it got a 2014 makeover.
The song was originally written by Paul Anka and Michael Jackson. Anka teamed up with John McClain, co-executor of Jackson's estate, to modernize the song, CNN said. There is a second version of the song that features Justin Timberlake.
Anka and Jackson worked on the song at the same time that they were working on "This Is It."
The song is described as having "a magic combination of the new and the original production that retains the track's analog, early 80s feel, while also sounding right at home with the disco-soul inflected music of today."
"Love Never Felt So Good" debuted Thursday night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The song was available streaming today.
There are eight previously unheard of songs by Michael Jackson that will be released in a new album titled "Xscape." The album will be released in May 13, and the songs were recorded between 1983 and 1999.
L.A. Reid, the chairman for Epic, said the producers who worked on the album were chosen because they had the "gravitas, depth and range to creatively engage with Jackson's work."
This will be the second posthumous album released. In 2010, "Michael" was released, where many questioned the authenticity of the vocals. This album was worked on by Timbaland, Rodney Jerkin, Jerome Harmon, Stargate and McClain.
Epic Records was Jackson's record label for three decades, and it signed a deal to release posthumous albums. Reid "was granted unlimited access to the treasures representing four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals."
Michael Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 50. He was preparing for the "This Is It" comeback tour.
