Huawei Matebook Better Than Microsoft Surface Pro 4 & iPad Pro? Specs, Features & Price Review
Huawei has finally unveiled its first 2-in-1 Windows 10 device. The powerful and impressive 12-inch tablet with a keyboard is something that users will be drooling over.
Welcome Huawei's MateBook
The MateBook features an excellent design and look. It features "rounded silver edges and white, glossy face" similar to that of the iPhone 6. Overall, the new tablet comes with a similar design to the iPad, considering its "curved edges, color selection and button placement." However, it arrives with a slimmer and thinner frame.
Features & Specs
MateBook's is equipped with a sixth-generation Core m with two cores and 3.1GHz maximum clock speed. The new tablet in the market is likely powered by a Core m7-6Y75. LCD comes with a 2160 x 1440 resolution that enables text and photos to look sharp and bright. Its chassis is built from aluminum that does not bend easily.
MateBook vs. Surface Pro
MateBook looks like iPad Pro but its components and OS are closer to the Surface Pro. Between the two, Surface Pro has a slightly bigger dimension and is heavier. Both have a 5MP front facing camera but the Surface Pro has 8MP rear-facing camera.
The older tablet is more versatile and compact because it comes with a kickstand that flips out of the back of the system. Meanwhile, the MateBook comes with a keyboard with a folding cover that takes up more space.
Overall, the review thinks Microsoft's Surface Pro line leads with better performance, more outstanding design and a better value compared to Huawei's MateBook.
MateBook vs. iPad Pro
Another review believes that the new tablet is better than Apple's iPad Pro. The new tablet can be fully charged in just 2.5 hours. It is so fast charging that it reaches 60 percent in just one hour of charging. It includes Wi-Fi mobile hotspot support and seamless transferring of files from an Android device or vice versa. The stylus is unspectacular but it has a laser point and an eraser.
The new tablet is a good option for those who can't afford to buy the iPad Pro because this is much cheaper. It is also more powerful and efficient. The device only costs $699.
"This is exactly the type of computer I'd willingly buy from Apple," according to the review. "You might argue that the iPad Pro is practically a MateBook, but unfortunately it runs iOS, which isn't always ready to offer the kind of computing experience I need."
