Here's how the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Sony Xperia X compare with each other.

The Galaxy S7's measurement is 142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9 mm, weighing 152g, Gizmag wrote. The handset's body is glass aluminum and bears a resemblance to its predecessor's design. The Galaxy S7 boasts of a curved back and a Super AMOLED screen.

The Galaxy S7 comes in black, gold and silver colors, the news outlet listed. The device's screen is at 5.1 inches, while the Galaxy S7 Edge is bigger at 5.5 inches. The handset is equipped with always-on display technology, which allows users to see the time, date and different notifications while the device is on a desk.

Sony's Xperia X, in contrast, measures at 142.7 x 69.4 x 7.9 mm and weighs slightly heavier than the Galaxy S7 at 153g, according to GSM Arena. The handset comes in white, graphite black, lime gold and rose gold colors.

The device also has a 5-inch full HD 1080p screen bearing TRILUMINOS Display and Dynamic Contrast Enhancement, Sony's official site wrote. Check out the Xperia X below.

Processor, RAM, OS, Internal Storage, Battery

The Galaxy S7 sold in the United States, China and Japan is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Gizmag noted. In other places, the handset will carry the octa-core Samsung Exynos 8990.

Other notable specs of the Galaxy S7 are as follows: 4GB of RAM, 32/64/128 GB internal storage options, microSD cards up to 2TB in size and a 3000mAh battery, Gizmag listed.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 650 processor powers the Xperia X, Sony's website added. It also has 3GB RAM, a 2620mAh battery and 32/64GB of internal storage.

Camera & Other Features

Samsung enabled the Galaxy S7 to take impressive photos, even in low-light shooting conditions as well as enhanced focus speed, Gizmag added. The device has a 12MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization and a 5MP front-facing shooter.

The Galaxy S7 has a fingerprint scanner, a microUSB port, Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology, wireless charging, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is also water and dust resistant, the news outlet further reported. The Galaxy S7 can also be paired with the Gear VR, Samsung's virtual reality headset.

The Xperia X, meanwhile, has a 23MP primary camera and a 13MP front-facing shooter, both of which are capable of photographing scenes in low light as well, Sony wrote. It also has a fingerprint sensor, Android M as its operating system and high-resolution audio with the S-Force Front Surround tech.

Price & Release Date

The Galaxy S7 will roll out in stores on March 11, but preorders are already available in the United States, Gizmag noted. The device can be purchased for about $670.

The Xperia X has a price tag of $830, Xperia Blog reported. No official release date was announced yet, but the United States is currently holding pre-registrations.
