The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to match their longest winning streak of the season when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. The Lakers have won two in a row, shocking the Golden State Warriors last Sunday then defeating the Orlando Magic two days later.

It will also mark the final possible matchup between two of the greatest players in NBA history, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. In case you haven't heard, this season will be the final year of Bryant's illustrious and legendary career.

However, Lakers head coach Byron Scott says the 37-year-old Kobe is questionable to play in Thursday's matchup. "Mamba" has been nursing a sore shoulder in the past week, causing him to miss four of the past six games.

"That morning (versus Orlando) he said he felt pretty good. Then as the day got farther on before the game he said it started to bother him. So I don't know, we'll see," Scott said on Kobe's status against the Cavaliers.

LeBron Content if He Can't Face Kobe One Last Time

"I had an opportunity to play against him here (in Cleveland) and also in the All-Star game and I've been watching him throughout this journey," James said. The Cavaliers started a four-game road trip on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings and "The King" may be getting some rest.

"For me, playing against him one last time doesn't come into play if Coach wants to rest me that night," he said. James played 36 minutes against the Kings, scoring 25 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing six assists in the 120-111 win.

If Kobe doesn't play or if LeBron is rested, the last time they faced each other was in the 120-111 win by the Cavs in Cleveland last Feb. 10. James registered a double-double with 29 points and 11 assists while Bryant had 17 points for the Lakers. Fans could also count the All-Star Game in Toronto as their final showdown.

'Black Mamba' vs. 'The King'

"Those are two guys we grew up as kids watching. Them always being compared to Michael Jordan and stuff like that," Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson said. It's a shame that these two players have never met in the playoffs, but they have faced each other in the regular season 21 times.

James has the advantage on this particular matchup as his record against Kobe is an impressive 15 wins and six losses. Many fans would look at their accomplishments and say that Bryant had the better career. He had won five NBA championships with the Lakers compared to James' two titles with the Miami Heat.
