WWE Roadblock 2016 Matches, Predictions, Schedule, How to Watch: Dean Ambrose, Brock Lensar, Triple H in WWE Network Special
Before arriving to "WrestleMania," the WWE has placed a roadblock with a WWE Network special literally named "WWE Roadblock."
NXT Tag Team Championship: The Revival (Dash & Dawson) (c) vs. Big Cass & Enzo Amore:
Although "Roadblock" is an event featuring the WWE's main roster, fans will see a title match featuring names from the NXT developmental system. At NXT, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson have been its Tag Team Champions for several months and have been in a rivalry against Enzo, Big Cass and Carmella, which included a title match at "NXT TakeOver: London." The Revival retained the titles at London but the feud apparently continues, especially via backstage promos, brawls and surprise attacks.
Prediction: It's not the first time NXT superstars were highlighted in a WWE Network special. Last July, Finn Balor defeated Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship during its WWE Network special "Beast in the East" in Tokyo, Japan. The fact the WWE will feature an NXT title match again at a prominently main-roster heavy show will likely mean new champions will be crowned. Therefore, Enzo and Big Cass are predicted to finally win the NXT Tag Team Championship, although they should already be part of the main roster.
Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar:
According to the WWE, Brock Lesnar will face Bray Wyatt to end a feud that started shortly before January's "Royal Rumble." The Wyatt Family did attack Lesnar in January during "Monday Night Raw" and eliminated him during the actual Royal Rumble match. Not much has went on between Lesnar and the Wyatts but a match will still occur with these two.
Prediction: Lesnar wins. This is a match that should have taken place at "WrestleMania," given the fights leading up to the "Royal Rumble." But with Lesnar still scheduled to fight Dean Ambrose at "WrestleMania," he needs to still look strong. Wyatt, meanwhile, still doesn't have a "WrestleMania" match set, so he can take a loss without it affecting whatever program he enters after Saturday night.
WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) vs. The League of Nations (King Barrett & Sheamus):
It's a feud not many people have asked for but the fans will still watch since all names involved can deliver in the ring. WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day have been going strong as champions, even defeating AJ Styles and Chris Jericho this past Monday at "Raw." Prior to "Raw," specifically at "WWE Fastlane," the League of Nations interrupted an in-ring promo segment featuring New Day, Christian and Edge. The interruption seems to have signaled what the next tag-team feud would be but fans weren't too thrilled that it would occur at "WrestleMania." Although a "WrestleMania" match may still take place, the "Roadblock" match may either be the end of the short feud of a building block for the main show in Dallas on April 3.
Prediction: The New Day retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (c) vs. Dean Ambrose:
For the first time since winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the "Royal Rumble," Triple H will defend his title against Dean Ambrose. The feud between Ambrose and Triple H stems from a few angles: Ambrose's best friend Roman Reigns is also feuding against Triple H, Ambrose was eliminated by Triple H in the Royal Rumble match and Ambrose dislikes The Authority -- a stance he's had since The Shield era's near conclusion. Reigns is scheduled to fight Triple H for the title at "WrestleMania," therefore the result at "Roadblock" may be predictable unless the WWE is ready to toss a huge curveball in Canada.
Prediction: Triple H will defeat Ambrose. As much as most fans would like an Ambrose win, there are a couple factors stopping him. First, Ambrose is scheduled to fight Lesnar at "WrestleMania" and second, the WWE seems to be determined to have the Triple H vs. Reigns "WrestleMania" main event. Expect a dirty finish for this match, which may include appearances from Lesnar and even Reigns.
How to Watch:
Online: Live coverage streaming of "WWE Roadblock" begins at 8 p.m. EST, and it can be seen exclusively on the WWE Network. Currently a "Kickoff" show is not scheduled to air.
