NBA 2K14 Locker Codes, My Career, & Mods on Next-Gen Xbox One, PS4: MVP Kevin Durant Lands NBA 2K15 Cover
LeBron James is the King, but Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder is the new reigning MVP. After a landslide, near unanimous voting, KD won his first MVP. That performance somehow tops last years "historically great" effort.
Averaging career highs in points (32) and assists (5.5), all the while breaking a decades-old Michael Jordan record, KD never disappointed. Now his efforts have culminated in perhaps the greatest non-NBA-issued honor for a basketball player, the cover of NBA 2K.
The hyper-realistic basketball sim is miles better than its buggy competitor EA Sports NBA Live, much like KD is miles better than everyone on the court minus James.
The gangly 6-foot-9, 240 pound combo-forward is understandably psyched out.
"I've been an avid fan and player of NBA 2K since I was a kid, and being selected as the sole cover athlete of NBA 2K15 is an amazing accomplishment at this point of my life," Durant said. "I feel like my time has come."
Technically, though, this isn't his first NBA 2K cover. It's his first individual cover. NBA 2K13 featured Durant alongside LA Clippers star Blake Griffin and injured Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose.
Interestingly enough, KD would more likely play as the Clips or Bulls and leave the Thunder for player 2! At least, that's what he said during a conference call, but seriously you wouldn't play as your MVP self? Maybe it's because he's unreliable?
"I never play with our team, for some reason, but everybody else does and they always kill me," Durant stated. "In my house, you have to pick a random team. That's how you see how good you are."
And, just like on the court, KD never shies away from a challenge.
"I play with anybody," he went on to say. "I know all these players, I know their games. I have an advantage."
It's clear: KD got game.
In other related news, NBA 2K14 has released new locker codes. On May 5 the game's official Twitter page featured #Kobe24LiveAnotherDay as the locker code.
Do you think KD deserved the MVP nod over LeBron James? Do you think someone besides those two stud athletes should have been awarded the NBA's top individual honor? Lastly, are you a fan of the 2K franchise? Let us know in the comments section below.
