The cast from the smash Broadway hit "Hamilton" were among those recently paying tribute to music legend Prince.

Before the close of a recent production the entire cast assembled on stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre for a jazzy rendition of the 57-year-old icon's hit tune "Let's Go Crazy."

Lin-Manuel Miranda Among Those Paying Tribute

Pulitzer Prize winning cast member Lin-Manuel Miranda later told reporters that "Hamilton" musical director Alex Lacamoire had spent all day composing the routine.

Later, several cast members, Miranda included, also later took to Twitter to voice their individual expressions.

Just a stone's throw away from the Rodgers Theatre, the cast of "The Color Purple" also paid tribute, performing an equally spectacular rendition of "Purple Rain," lead by star Academy Award winning cast member Jennifer Hudson.

"His music will live on and he will live with his music, so we want to keep him alive today," Hudson told a spellbound audience.

The 57-year-old Grammy-winning performer died on Thursday, April 21. Reports are he was found unconscious and unresponsive in an elevator of his Paisley Park mansion near Minnesota.

Born Prince Rodgers Nelson, a cause of death for the superstar performer remains a mystery, with the results of an autopsy still pending.

Prince Reported in Poor Health Leading up to Demise

Several media outlets have reported in recent times the "When Doves Cry" singer had been in poor health.

In the wake of the news, several Latino stars instantly took to social media to express their shock and sympathies.

Other than Miranda, others reacting included Demi Lovato, Jennifer Lopez, Gina Rodriguez, Mario Lopez, George Lopez, Gael Garcia Bernal and Kate Del Castillo.

Among Prince's other biggest hits were such classics as "The Beautiful Ones," "Pop Life," "Diamonds and Pearls," "Kiss," "How Come U Don't You Call Me Anymore," "I Will Die 4 U," and "Lady Cab Driver."
