'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers Surface with Michelle Obama Set for 'NCIS' Cameo; Cote de Pablo not Part of DiNozzo's Sendoff
Michelle Obama will star as herself in the upcoming "Homefront" episode of "NCIS," where her Joining Force initiative will be featured front and center.
The May 3, episode will be highlighted by the First Lady sharing screen time with Mark Harmon's Agent Gibbs character and the teenage son of a Marine credited with foiling a home invasion.
The Joining Forces initiative centers on Obama and Dr. Jill Biden's drive to support service members, veterans and their families by granting them opportunities in employment, wellness and education.
"The opportunity came up to do a storyline that sort of spoke to it and what they offer," said showrunner Gary Glasberg. "And when we started to talk about it, because of the First Lady's significant involvement, they wanted to participate."
Scenes to be Shot at White House
Initially, the First Lady was scheduled to visit the set, but due to scheduling conflicts a change was made calling for all the scenes to be shot at the White House.
"This was never done before," Glasberg noted of the White House film setting. "So, it was a dream for many of us."
Meanwhile, speculation continues to mount about the prospective guest cast being assembled for Michael Weatherly's final episode as Agent Tony DiNozzo.
Cote de Pablo not Part of DiNozzo Sendoff
One familiar face that's now confirmed not to be a part of it all is Cote de Pablo, who previously starred as Agent Ziva David. During a recent interview related to her upcoming film "The 33," de Pablo revealed she won't be appearing.
Surely, that comes as a bummer to fans, who in a recent TVLine poll revealed they most want to see DiNozzo "ride off into the sunset" with Agent David.
After 13 seasons as one of the original cast members, Weatherly recently announced that he will be leaving the show at the end of the season.
