A viral video of a bear walking upright, instead of on all fours as bears naturally do, has people concerned for the animal's well being and sparked conversation about the bear bile industry in Asia.

The video, shared on social media, reveals a black bear walking upright. A first look at the video surprises because it is not everyday that a bear resembles a human when walking.

However, many have pointed out that the woman taking the video failed to realize that the bear is only able to walk upright because of how scary thin he is.

Comments on YouTube reveal people criticizing the woman for attributing the bear's ability to walk upright with the concept of "evolving" instead of realizing the bear's lack of nutrition. 

The bear is believed to be part of those captured for their bile, which is extracted under cruel conditions and in a painful procedure to then be used for medicine. This practice is very common in Asia.
