Neil Patrick Harris Nude: 'How I Met Your Mother' Star Bares All On Rolling Stone Cover, Talks 'Coming Out'
On the latest cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, 40-year-old actor, singer, and producer Neil Patrick Harris bares it all -- literally.
Harris appears on the cover completely naked except for a black bow tie around his neck and a matching black top hat on his "man goods."
The openly gay actor also bared it all when it came to topics regarding his "coming out" story, playing a straight guy in "How I Met Your Mother" and his current role on Broadway.
"Once all the cards were on the table, I got more opportunities than ever," Harris told Rolling Stone Magazine about coming out. "Some actors don't get hired because you can't look into their soul and see what they're like because they're kept guarded."
Harris officially came out to the public in 2006. In the past, he stated that a big reason behind his "coming out" announcement was in part because of the budding relationship with his current partner, David Burtka.
"For me, I fell in love with a dude and started spending all my time with him. And therefore, you don't want to be suppressive of that," Harris told ABC News last year. "I didn't want to disrespect David."
Ironically, one of Harris' most noted roles was the girl-crazy Barney Stinson on the CBS comedy series, "How I Met Your Mother."
In the issue, Harris reveals that playing the role of Barney has earned him lots of high-fives from straight guys.
Now, with the recent series ending of "How I Met Your Mother," Harris is starring on Broadway in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" where he plays the complete opposite of Barney Stinson. This time around, Harris plays the role of a transgender singer.
"I didn't think he could pull off the femininity of [the role]," Harris' partner David Burtka commented. "This is such a stretch for him. In his day-to-day, he's not a very feminine guy."
Despite the initial doubts and reservations, Harris has received rave reviews for his current performance on Broadway.
