Mexican Doctor Dresses Like Spider-Man to Cheer up Young Cancer Patients
A doctor in Guadalajara, identified as Sergio Gallegos Castorena, has received praise for not only dedicating his life to helping sick children but for also bringing smiles to their faces by dressing up as their favorite superheroes and characters.
Castorena is known to dress up in a variety of costumes, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, el Chavo del Ocho, el Chapulín Colorado, Santa Claus, a prince and a clown, at the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara while meeting with his patients.
He uses the costumes as an opportunity to get to know the 20 children under his medical care better, while also helping them forget about their battle with cancer for a few minutes.
The costumes are reportedly donated to the hospital by the families of the children who hope that the doctor may wear them when spending time with their children.
While recorded last year, the video of Castorena in costume has reemerged and is growing in popularity.
