Daddy Yankee and Don Omar Announce Tour Dates
Daddy Yankee and Don Omar have finally released new show dates in the United States for their joint tour.
According to entertainment promoter Felix Cabrera and the two artists will be performing in four cities this summer as part of The Kingdom tour.
The tour will include shows on July 30 in New York at Madison Square Garden, August 6 in Miami at the American Airlines Arena, August 7 in Orlando at Amway Center and August 27 in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
The two announced the joint tour last summer and performed a sold out Vegas show and three other shows in Puerto Rico, but talk of an official tour schedule seemed to die down after that.
A performance at the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards was highly anticipated but considered a bit of a let down when the two artist barely looked at one another.
It's no secret that the two aren't friends, which made the idea of a joint tour the more attractive, but the lack of shows triggered rumors of a tour cancellation.
However, their discourse and constant competition is what initiated the idea of a joint tour, as Don Omar explained last year.
“Let me clarify: I am not his best friend, and he is not my best friend,” he said. “But we respect each other. That desire to be the best is what has pushed us to be better.”
Tickets for The Kingdom tour shows in New York and Miami shows are available on June 9 and tickets for the Los Angeles and Orlando shows go on sale on June 23.
