Video from the Orlando nightclub shooting that left 49 people dead and another 53 wounded has made its way to the Internet.

Purported shooter Omar Mateen reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS before dying in a shootout with police. In the video, gunfire can be seen erupting at the gay nightclub Pulse in the early morning hours of June 12.

Footage Reportedly Captured by one of Victims

The footage was posted to YouTube, made available from someone who noted it was recorded by friend Amanda Alvear, who is among the victims of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

The bodies have now been removed from the club and authorities insist nearly all of the victims have been identified. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer added that the families of 26 of the victims have also been notified, though there are fears the overall death toll couuld still rise.

During a recent press conference, police chief John Mina detailed officers were involved in three different confrontations with Mateen, with the first coming when an off-duty officer who had been working at the nightclub responded to shots fired at about 2 a.m.

As officers engaged Mateen, reports are he retreated to a nearby bathroom where he held up to five hostages at gunpoint.

Seddique Mir Mateen has since publicly expressed regret for his son's actions, even as he insisted he was confused by them.

"I don't know what caused this," he said. "I did not know and did not understand that he has anger in his heart."

U.S. attorney for Central Florida A. Lee Bentley said the investigators had collected a large amount of electronic and criminal evidence and were trying to determine whether Mateen acted alone.

"If anyone else was involved in this crime, they will be prosecuted," he said.

President Obama Expresses Sympaties

In a speech from the White House, President Barack Obama implored citizens to be strong and remain united. "In the face of hate and violence, we will love one another. We will not give in to fear or turn against each other."

Omar Mateen was previously investigated over comments he made in 2013 alluding to terrorist connections. Back then, the FBI found no concrete evidence of any legitimate ties.

A resident of Fort Piere, Matten once worked as a security guard with the security firm G4S. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives noted he was legally able to purchase firearms, and did so as recently as a week ago.

In the aftermath of all the bloodshed, the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, has stepped forward to claim responsibility for the carnage.
