'The Originals’ Season Finale Spoilers: Hayley's Baby Is Born; Will Someone Die in 'From a Cradle to a Grave?' [Video]
It's finally here: Both the season finale and the arrival of Hayley's hybrid baby will be featured during next week's episode of "The Originals."
The last episode ended with a shocking twist, and it appeared that Klaus lost the battle for New Orleans against Marcel, TV Fanatic reported.
In the upcoming episode, "From a Cradle to a Grave," Hayley will make a desperate run to escape the witches and protect her unborn baby. However, as Klaus and Elijah search for her, Klaus will discover that Davina and Cami have teamed up against him. Klaus will also make a tragic decision in a groundbreaking moment on the series.
The CW released an emotionally gripping teaser video featuring music, cries and shots of the main characters undergoing life-changing events. One scene features footage of Haley's newborn baby. In other clips, Elijah is covered in blood and Klaus appears to be forced against a wall.
In an interview with TVLine, actor Joseph Morgan opened up about Klaus' reaction to Elijah and Hayley passionate kiss.
"I don't think it's going to go down too well," he teased. "Klaus is very possessive over his siblings, and he wants to be the center of attention. That comes from his childhood, from being the outcast of his family. He tries to force his siblings' affection and love, and someone else being the subject of that won't sit well with him. Also, the fact that it's Hayley and she's carrying his child will be really difficult for him to get his head around. The truth is, they'd probably be better without Klaus. In a time of peace, when they could make a go of it as a family, Elijah would make a good father."
Morgan also revealed that Klaus' evil father Mikael will make a comeback to haunt Klaus in his dreams.
"He's only back in dreams and visions at the moment, but I'd say that's still pretty terrible news. He's the monster who monsters were afraid of, to quote Klaus. He wants nothing more than to put his bastard son to rest once and for all. I always felt like, when Klaus staked Mikael on 'The Vampire Diaries,' it was almost too easy. I felt like, ‘That guy's coming back at some point.' He's a threat to be reckoned with, and now he's trying to break through to life -- or, to unlife, him being a vampire and all. It's a terrifying prospect," he said.
Executive producer Julie Plec also dropped a few spoilers, revealing that fans can expect "an impressive body count" in the finale, while one faction will make a major play for control of the French Quarter, E! News reported. "We will see one faction make a very, very, very aggressive, hostile move and take everybody by surprise and leave a lot of the Quarter as we know it in chaos."
The synopsis for the Season 1 finale states:
"As the baby's due date draws near, Klaus and Elijah embark on a search for Hayley, while Hayley herself is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her unborn baby safe and away from the witches. Francesca takes a meeting with Jackson and Oliver (guest star Chase Coleman) to determine the future of the werewolves in New Orleans. In the aftermath of a surprising attack on Marcel and his vampires at the compound, Davina and Cami join resources to take down Klaus. Finally, in a desperate move to protect those most important to him, Klaus makes a heartbreaking decision."
"The Originals" S1E22, "From a Cradle to a Grave," airs Tuesday, May 13, at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
