'NCIS' Season 14 Cast News While Premiere Date Remains Obscure: Wilmer Valderrama set to Join as Series Regular
"NCIS" has added Wilmer Valderrama as a regular cast member for its upcoming 14th season.
Reports are the "That '70s Show" star and Demi Lovato's ex will star as a "once-grounded field agent who accepted a deep cover assignment years ago and never resurfaced."
Now back on the scene, Valderrama's character is furthered described as an "unpredictable, charismatic, loose cannon."
Series Looking to Move on From Michael Weatherly
Still looking to replace Michael Weatherly, who left the show as Agent Tony DiNozzo at the end of last season, series executive producer Gary Glasberg bills the gig as a great opportunity for the 36-year-old Valderrama.
"Fans are going to see him like they've never seen him before," he said. "This is going to be fun. We're thrilled he's coming aboard."
Valderrama most recently appeared in a recurring role on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." He has also starred in "Minority Report," "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series" and "Awake."
The most watched drama series on TV, "NCIS" also stars Mark Harmon, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Rocky Carroll, Emily Wickersham, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum. Weatherly was one of the show's latest original cast members, joining Harmon (Agent Jethro Gibbs), Perrette (Abby Sciuto) and McCallum (Donald "Ducky" Mallard).
Valderrama, Lovato go Separate Ways
After six years, Valderrama and Lovato, 23, recently called it quits amid widespread rumors he wasn't ready for a bigger commitment.
"Demi wanted a ring, but Wilmer wasn't ready to get married," said a source. "She didn't want to wait around anymore, so they decided to part ways."
The two later took to social media, where they shared a photo on one of Lovato's platforms stating" "After almost six loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship. "This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends."
