USA vs. Colombia Copa America 2016 Live Stream, Preview, Prediction, Schedule As Teams Contest 3rd Place Game
The United States and Colombia face off for the second time this month in the third-place match of the Copa America.
Start Time and Streaming Info
The game will be played on Saturday June 25 at 8 p.m. EDT. It can be viewed via Univision Deportes or online via fuboTV.
Both sides will be looking for redemption after disappointing semifinal performances. The United States imploded three minutes into their match against Argentina, losing 4-0 in a match that saw outplayed and outclassed in every way.
The Americans had played well to that point and were expected to challenge Argentina in some way, but every touch on the ball was disastrous for them.
The only other game that saw the U.S. in poor form was the opener against Colombia that they lost 2-0.
That was the high point of the tournament for Los Cafeteros as they have slowly but surely lost their footing with each game since.
The semifinal against Chile on Wednesday was a disappointing effort mainly because the game was over 10 minutes in. Colombia did fight back after dropping two early goals, but never quite managed to master the weather after a 2-hour delay.
Player to watch
James Rodriguez has not had a great tournament, sparking into life at moments but not really dominating the way he did two summers ago in the World Cup. He always plays for his country and will undoubtedly want to finish third.
History Says...
Colombia holds a big edge in this competition, winning 12 games, drawing three and losing three. The United States' last win over Colombia came in 2005, a 3-0 win in an international friendly. The famous win for the Americans came in the 1994 World Cup, a 2-1 win that eliminated Colombia. Colombia however have the more recent victories, including the 2-0 win that opened this tournament.
Prediction
Colombia wins handedly by the score of 2-0.
