"The Walking Dead" Season 7 returns to AMC in the fall, after fans waited so long for a release date.

Show runners released the official trailer at Comic-Con in San Diego Friday. The next season is expected to be scarier and more action packed than the last.

In Season 6, we left off with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) crushing someone's skull with his famous bat, Lucille, but we have no idea who the skull belongs to.

"TWD" executive producers Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert were present to al at Comic-Con during the Season 7 trailer official release. They were careful to not tease too much. 

In the trailer, there are flashbacks of previous seasons, where zombies walk around finding the next brain to feed off of. Is this a foreshadow to show us that most of the fan favorites will not survive the apocalypse next season?

What if no man comes out alive in Season 7? After all, if zombies were real, it would only start a cycle that would end up with everyone being a zombie. The same thing goes for vampires.

Yet, Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Heath (Corey Hawkins) are still out there hunting zombies while Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James) are still stumbling upon other people who survived.

Will the new people they find join their team, or become enemies? 

Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick, is one of the possible victims that Negan attacked.

"It's a really sh*tty start to the season... but I think we're headed towards one of the biggest showdowns we've had on this show since Terminus. So hang in there with us," Lincoln tells The Hollywood Reporter about the mysterious victim.

Was it Rick that was bashed in the head during the Season 6 finale? Or could it be Daryl (Norman Reedus)?

Other possible victims include; Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Eugene (Josh McDermitt).

Meanwhile, fans would like to see what will happen with Rick and Michonne. Will they stop playing the cat and mouse game and finally get together?

Cast members at Comic-Con said it makes sense for them to start a relationship because he helps her to get over a lot of her issues and she deeply respects him.

"The Walking Dead" returns to AMC Sunday Oct. 3.
