Rio Olympics 2016 Soccer Semifinals: Germany vs. Nigeria Live Stream, Preview, Predictions
Germany and Nigeria face off in the semifinals of the Olympic games on Tuesday.
Both teams have had solid tournaments thus far. Nigeria won its group with two solid victories to kick off the tournament, a 5-4 win over Japan and a 1-0 victory over Sweden, before a loss to Colombia in a meaningless third group game. But the team showed strength and resilience in a 2-0 win over Denmark in the quarterfinals.
The Germans have improved as the tournament has worn on. The team drew with Mexico to open its tournament before tying Korea Republic 3-3. In its final group game, the team managed 10 goals against Fiji in a 10-0 win. But that was nothing compared to the team's 4-0 thrashing of a solid Portuguese side in the quarterfinal, the most one-sided match of the round.
Prediction
Nigeria has been excellent in this tournament, but so have the Germans. It should be the more entertaining of the two matches with Nigeria edging Germany 1-0.
Start Time
The game between Nigeria and Germany kicks off at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
