Rio Olympics 2016 Soccer Bronze Medal: Nigeria vs. Honduras Live Stream, Preview, Predictions
The men's national teams from Nigeria and Honduras will face off on Saturday in the bronze medal match at the Rio Olympics.
Nigeria and Honduras were both humiliated in their respective semifinal. The African side had been one of the better teams in the tournament up to that point and many favored them over Germany. But alas, the team simply could not take on the Germans, who steadily improved throughout the tournament, and the result was a 2-0 loss.
Now they take on a Honduras side that had surprised the world with a deep run after managing to get out of a tough group. Honduras' road to success was halted however in a woeful display against Brazil. That game started with a Brazil goal just 14 seconds in and ended with a 6-0 thrashing on the scoreboard. Look for Honduras to try and regain some dignity.
Prediction
Nigeria was one of the better stories of this tournament and likely deserves the third place finish. Honduras is likely lacking confidence after the battering it took from Brazil. Nigeria wins 3-1.
Start Time
The match between Honduras and Nigeria kicks off at 12 p.m. EDT on Saturday August 20.
