Peru vs. Ecuador Live Stream, Preview, Predictions for World Cup 2018 Qualifiers
Ecuador and Peru meet in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.
Ecuador started the campaign in perfect form and once sat at the top of the standings. But the team has now gone three straight games without a win, including two horrid defeats. Back in March the team managed a 2-2 draw against Paraguay before losing 3-1 against Colombia. On Thursday the team's latest setback was a 3-0 loss against Brazil at home. It was a poor effort that saw the team completely lose control of the game in the second half.
With 13 points, Ecuador is just one point ahead of sixth place Paraguay and only three ahead of seventh place Chile. A loss here could put the team, which once look like a lock for a berth, out of the top five spots altogether.
Peru is all but out of contention with only four points in seven games. The team lost to Bolivia in its most recent qualifier and would essentially need to win eight of its last 11 to stand a chance at qualifying.
Prediction
Ecuador will look for a big comeback as it tries to thwart its continuous downward spiral. Look for a 1-0 win from Ecuador.
Start Time, Date, Location
Peru and Ecuador kick off at 10:15 p.m. EDT on Tuesday in Lima.
