The Wednesday, Sept. 7 Powerball jackpot has ballooned to $186 million with a cash option payout of $128.1 million to a single game winner. There were no big prize winners in the Sept. 3 drawing, rolling the then $170 million jackpot over into Wednesday's game. The winning numbers on Sept. 3 were 7-39-50-59-67. The Red Powerball Power number was 25 and the Power Play number was 3.
Plenty of Winners
In all, there were 729, 569 winners of at least $4 each in the Sept. 3 game. You can watch a live stream here of Wednesday night's draw.
Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Players select five white numbers from (1 to 69) and one red ball (1 to 26) Tickets cost $2 each.
Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $111 Million
Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot has now grown to $111 million after there were no grand prize winners in the Sept. 6, $101 million game.
With the jackpot rolling over, a single game winner in Friday's game will have the option of walking away with $76 million cash option payment.
The winning numbers in Tuesday's game were 25-37-58-69-75. The winning Gold Mega Ball number was 8 and the megaplier was 3.
Overall, 471, 027 players won at least $2 each in the Sept. 6 game, with one player from Michigan matching the four ball white ball numbers needed to earn $5,000.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 75; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 15. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 259 million.
