Should Your Intimate Friendship Be Considered an Emotional Affair?
According to Tony Berry who recently left a comment in one of NPR's social media posts, you are in an emotional affair "when you share more with your 'friend,' than your S/O." "Time, confiding, support, etc. Anytime that your 'friend' commands more of your commitment than the one you're committed to, you need to cut ties immediately," Berry adds.
His comment was a response to a recent NPR article entitled "When Does A Friendship Become An Affair?" based on the weekly podcast "Dear Sugar Radio" from station WBUR that addresses issues on love and relationships offering listeners tips and advice on how to deal with them.
Do you agree with Berry? Wasn't the point of having friendships always been the opportunity to be able to confide your deep and personal thoughts with someone else? Or should intimacy be reserved only for spouses? What are your thoughts?
Should an intimate and deep friendship with someone other than your spouse be immediately cut?
