After months of "Once Upon a Time" creators saying that they want to incorporate Disney's 2013 animated monster hit "Frozen" into their ABC series, the deed has finally been done. Recently, it was announced that Anna and Queen Elsa of Arendelle will appear in season four of the fairy tale-based drama.

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, "Once Upon a Time" creators, have not been shy about wanting to see "Frozen" influence Storybrooke.

"Eddy and I saw the movie when it came out last year, and we loved it," Horowitz said in an interview with E! News. "It was our favorite movie of the year, and when we saw it, we thought, 'Wow, this really feels like something that we would love to do.'"

Unlike the series, things on the show, which aired its season three finale on Sunday, do not just happen magically. Kitsis and Horowitz have to go through executives in order to tell the stories they want.

"It's funny because people will immediately assume that, oh we got a call from Disney and they told us, 'You need to use our new property,' but it was actually the reverse," Kitsis explained. "It's not easy to get property from franchises, and this was out of really our love for the story."

Kitsis and Horowitz would not confirm if Elsa will be the main villain of season four, but they did say they plan on showing a different side of her.

"She was misunderstood, and that is something that we definitely want to carry over into our interpretation," Horowitz said.

Although Horowitz insists he knows that there is "trust all around that we need to live up to," the executive producers will not be telling the story of "Frozen" all over again.

"We're not going to redo the movie because we just don't feel like it's in anyone's interest for us to redo it," Horowitz shared. "But what we can say is we're very aware of what we think makes this character from 'Frozen' so special, and we want to ... make sure that what we do is in the universe of everyone fell in love with this past year."

Kitsis added that he will be "disappointed" if the show doesn't go to Arendelle at some point. The creative minds have not cast Anna yet, but Kristen Bell has expressed interest in the past.

"Well Kristen Bell was Anna. ... We're going to start our process. [In regards to] Kristen Bell, there's no bigger fans than us, whether it be 'Frozen' or 'Veronica Mars,'" Horowitz said.
