Juan Gabriel has a lot to worry about these days, and it might be getting worse.
He's struggling with sickness and constantly fighting off rumors that he has intestinal cancer, and now, his 25-year-old son Joan Gabriel Aguilera may be going to jail.
Joan Aguilera is being detained in Florida and may face time behind bars after a serious drunk driving accident that took place Dec. 30 at about 4:05 a.m., reported TV Notas. Aguilera was reportedly exceeding the speed limit and drinking, and he will have to defend himself at a June court case.
"It happened at 4:05 in the morning on the 30th of December of last year," explained an inside source. "The truth is, as is customary, Joan was very drunk and driving above the speed limit. His car hit another car that was being driven by a woman."
The source added that Aguilera was not trying to flee, though the source attributes it to fear rather than to responsibility.
"He was so drunk and stunned by the impact that he couldn't even move," the source said. "When the cops arrived, they saw him sitting on the street crying and asking for forgiveness for what he had done."
This is not Joan Gabriel Aguilera's first time in trouble with the law.
In 2010, he and Hector Alberto Aguilera, both 21 at the time, were said to have burglarized a 2003 Ford expedition. They took a wallet and the credit cards, according to El Paso Times.
The cards were used at Cracker Barrel and the person who they belonged to found out. He asked the restaurant to help him find the men, and they were then detained. Hector Alberto Aguilera was released on a $12,500 bond and Joan Gabriel Aguilera was released on $5,500 bond.
