Microsoft t VR headsets for Windows 10 to be detailed in December
Microsoft had announced at its October Windows 10 event that it's working with several new tech companies to bring in a new range of VR headsets based on the Windows Holographic platform, but it looks like specifics were in short supply. However, the company was meager on details outside of a short prototype demonstration. There are more chances that users will see these new low cost VR headset as soon as December.
In an interview with polygon, Microsoft HoloLens lead project Alex Kipman, said that more details would be revealed around Christmas. The details should include more information on specs like field of resolution and view as reported by Trusted Reviews.
Reports from Windows Central says that, Kipman had some interesting things to say about what to expect from the headsets. They will be packed inside-out tracking allowing movement tracker without the need for external sensors.
They are expected to start at a price of $299 and configurations will be available at different price points. Again, for an overall experience, it depends on the software you use and the PC you're tethered as these would give the real time experience.
At the December event at Taipei City, Taiwan, Microsoft will talk and have presentation by the Microsoft Windows and Devices executives in details on their plans and vision. This way the attendees will have a better understanding for what's in store next for Windows 10 and of directional guidance for building PCs optimised for a variety of windows holographic HDMs and content. The Windows Holographic VR headsets partners like HP, Lenovo, Dell, Acer and ASUS are expected to land alongside the Window 10 Creators Update in early 2017.
There's not much to say about the specs, designs or features of the headset yet. We have to wait for it's update which might be anytime soon before the release of these awaited low cost VR headsets.
