Mark Salling rape case dropped by LA district attorney
Former "Glee" star Mark Salling figured in another controversy following allegations of rape. A 22-year-old woman filed a case against Mark and according to her, he forced her to have sex with him when they were still dating in 2012. Initially, she agreed to make love with Mark, but when she changed her mind and said "no," she was forced into the act..
The woman claimed to be a virgin at the time so she repeatedly pleaded Salling to stop. She claims that she told him "I don't know if I can do this" and Salling plied her with alcohol and suppressed her eventually. She claims that she blacked out during the rape and the following morning he wanted to make out again and she consented.
According to TMZ, the rape case filed against Mark was dropped by the Los Angeles (LA) district attorney because too much time has elapsed since the incident took place. Moreover, investigators failed to gather sufficient evidence to substantiate the case.
Mark will not be facing jail time but there's still a possibility of re-opening the case once it gathers more evidence, Mail Online has reported. But it seems that he's not over with the word "jail" just yet.
In July last year, Salling was arrested because of child pornography charges after authorities claimed he had stored thousands of illicit photographs of children on his hard drive. He pleaded not guilty to the accusations.
He posted USD 150,000 for bail, but he will be fitted an ankle-monitoring bracelet, prohibited from using the Internet unless he gains approved supervision beforehand. The actor is also not allowed to go near anyone who's under eighteen and must stay away 100 yards in school, arcades, parks or anywhere minors can be.
