Cardiff City and Aston Villa will do battle in the Premier League's shockingly close relegation race.

While the race for the title is still being contested by four teams and is the closest it has been in years, it is not the most intriguing race of England's top league. Teams from 10th place to 18th are separated by just four points; 19th place Cardiff has 21 and still has a chance to play in the Premier League next season. The team can increase its chances with a win over Aston Villa, a team with 27 points.

"We have two home games next and we have targeted them to get some points. We are striving for continued improvement, to develop the team and you saw signs of the team developing at Manchester City and Manchester United," said Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to ESPN. "I was pleased with the way we managed those games. The Swansea game was a step back, maybe even two steps back, in terms of the result and the way we played. We let them have too much possession and we need to bounce back and start again. That is the only way in football."

Cardiff has a home record of four wins, three draws and five losses while Villa has a record of four wins, four draws and four losses on the road.

Prediction: Aston Villa wins 3-0 against Cardiff City.
