William Levy 2014 News & Movie: Cuban Actor to Star in 'Qué Rico Mambo' Musical [Watch]
William Levy has not turned his back on Spanish-language projects.
Although the Cuban actor has decided to get out of telenovelas, he has agreed to be on " Qué Rico Mambo." Eventually.
The actor will take the stage in the musical, but first he has a few commitments. Producers have announced that they will sign him after he finishes working on a movie. And he is also the face of a clothing label, but after that, he is free, said Radio Formula.
Levy has two more upcoming movies in 2014 and two more in 2015.
As part of his participation in the show, Levy has asked for a high paycheck. Also, he wants a chauffeur, a house, domestic helpers and more.
The show frequently relies on big name celebrities and switches them out regularly. The cast dances to mambo music in very grand scenes.
"Qué Rico Mambo" is characterized by showy outfits, dance, multimedia components and a well-known cast.
Last month, Livia Brito was supposed to be in the show, but she didn't show up, which meant that producers would possibly seek legal action. Cynthia Rodriguez took her place.
Omar Suarez has criticized the show for feeling too familiar to a show he produced, "Perfume de Gardenia."
"It's very unfortunate. It's a project with a great cast, but there have been a number of situations where there are too many similarities," he said. "What many people have pointed out is: 'There are many things that looks like "Perfume de Gardenia.' If they do exist, it is unfair to lie to the public."
Other celebrities that have participated in the show are Lorena Herrera, Maribel Guardia, Raul Osorio, Daniel Arenas and Niurka Marcos.
This won't be William Levy's first time dancing for a public. The actor participated in "Dancing with the Stars" in 2012.
