Nintendo will release first Super Mario game for iPhone on December 15
Nintendo will release the new Super Mario game on December 15 in US time zones. The game will be titled "Super Mario Run" and will be available worldwide for all iPhones and iPads. The game is said to be available for a free download initially, but there is also an optional one-time payment of USD 9.99 to unlock all features.
Apart from Japanese and English, "Super Mario Run" will be released in many other languages, according to Japan Times. As of now, "Super Mario Run" will be available from December 15, for iOS users, but later on it will be available for Androiddevices.
Following the successful "Pokemon Go," Nintendo is currently applying a strategy to bring in more players with a free version for "Super Mario Run." One of the creators for the original Mario game was Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto; he gave a demonstration of the game at the Apple's annual iPhone event as stated by Today.
"Pokemon Go," although not exactly created by Nintendo itself as it's licensed to Niantic Labs, has been very successful and has been downloaded nearly hundreds of millions of times. Nintendo is looking for the same success for "Super Mario Run." It is highly possible because Mario has played an important role especially in childhood memories.
Fans have already taken to amusement and it appears there are chances of the game to be downloaded in millions just like to "Pokemon Go" after the Android app arrives.
Nintendo's shift to mobile devices have been highly appreciated by investors - the shares have been increased more that 48 percent this year after the announcement of the game on Tuesday. There is no stopping there for Nintendo as they are also planning to launch mobile titles for its Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem franchises in March 2017. They would reap the benefits of the game much more when it is released for Android devices.
