Casey Kasem Missing Update: Legendary Radio Personality Found in Washington
Hours after 82-year-old "American Top 40" radio personality Casey Kasem was reported missing by his daughters, he was quickly found in Washington state on Wednesday.
According to KOMO, Kitsap County authorities found Casey and his wife Jean visiting others at a home.
After determining Casey was not in distress and was receiving appropriate care, the deputies left.
Though Kasem has been found, his exact location in Washington has yet to be announced.
Danny Deraney, publicist to Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem, released a statement saying now that his daughters have been informed of their fathers' whereabouts, they "will do everything in their power to bring him back home."
So why are Kasem's daughters fighting to bring their father home despite the news that he is safe with his wife Jean?
Well for one, his wife took off with Casey and left his family to assume that he was missing, and according to USA Today, the Kasem kids have had long-standing issues with their father's wife Jean Kasem.
Kerri Kasem also expressed her concern for her father's health to the Daily News.
"If they found him, I want to know if he's all right. I am praying," she said.
The 82-year-old radio legend currently suffers from Lewy body disease, a common cause of dementia.
On Tuesday when her father was still reported as missing, Kerri Kasem appeared on CNN to speculate on her father's whereabouts.
She informed CNN and its viewers that she had been named the legal temporary conservator for her father, but because he was missing at the time, she was unable to fulfill her duties.
Kerri and her sister, Julie Kasem, told CNN they last visited their father a week ago in the nursing home where he resides.
When the daughters' attorney Troy Martin called the day after the visit to check up on Kasem, he was told by the nursing home that he had been removed overnight.
Kasem's children are now working to get their father back home as quickly as possible.
